An ace dispute is usually a rulesheet problem. Both patterns can form a run, but their relative strength is not universal.

WORKED CHECK 01
Agree on the convention
Ask which sequence order the room publishes. Some rooms place A-K-Q above A-2-3; another convention places A-2-3 first. This guide does not assign either order to an uninspected APK.
WORKED CHECK 02
Keep the suit test separate
A♥ K♥ Q♥ is a pure sequence; A♥ 2♣ 3♦ is a mixed-suit sequence. Category decides this comparison before the ace-order question even arises.
WORKED CHECK 03
Work through a true tie of categories
Compare A♣ K♦ Q♥ with A♥ 2♦ 3♣. Both are mixed-suit runs. Apply the room’s sequence convention, record it, and use that same convention for every hand in the session.
