This exercise uses fixed visible cards so you can check an explanation without a random outcome.

READ & APPLY 01

Hand one: spot the pair

Read 6♣ 6♥ Q♦. The pair of sixes defines the category; the queen is a kicker. Say both parts aloud.

READ & APPLY 02

Hand two: avoid the colour trap

Read 2♦ 8♦ J♦. All cards share a suit but do not run consecutively, so the hand is a colour, not a pure sequence.

READ & APPLY 03

Hand three and four: compare categories

Compare 4♥ 5♥ 6♥ with 9♣ 9♦ 9♥. The trail wins under the classic ladder even though the other hand is a pure sequence.

READ & APPLY 04

Hand five: ask the right question

Read A♣ 2♦ 3♥. Name it as a sequence, then ask how that room ranks it against A-K-Q. Finishing the drill means explaining the rule, not collecting a high score.
